Not-annoying High Scores

I had some pretty horrible bugs in the last build. You couldn't have a name with "R" in it was a big one.

This build lets you type your name once at the beginning of the game (optionally) and it will automatically submit your scores while you play. Officially Build 33 - play it on my (ugly malformatted) site or directly, full screen.

If you head to my site, though, there is a quickly hacked together high score list. Now you can compete. :)

  1. I think your game rules are pretty good now! I had some fun between levels bouncing the beach balls around. Maybe there's a sequel in there...squid beach ball water polo or something.

I once busted both my legs off on a beach ball; that was weird. Also the rocks don't feel dense enough...they are too easy to nose out of the way.

Maybe it's time to turn up the cute with more smiley characters (fish, subs, bubbles coming up from below...), fun splash/gurgle/bubble sounds, music, etc.

  2. I was wondering why it skipped to the next level when I tried to submit..

  3. @Rob: Yeah, I'm really feeling the game now as a finished product. I'm putting a lot of elbow grease into polish from here on out!

I made the rocks heavier in the most recent build, and the beachballs lighter as well - the heavy rocks are actually a bit of a stressful event now!

Sounds and music will either be last, or whenever I get sick of coding menus. :)
